What is gasification?

The FuturGas Project will employ gasification technology which will convert the lignite to syngas (synthetic gas) using oxygen and steam.

There are a number of possible uses for the gas that is produced through the gasification of coal.

Producing liquid transport fuels such as diesel with ultra-low sulphur content, is one of the options that will be evaluated over the next two years of the Feasibility Study.
