What is carbon capture and storage (CCS)?

Carbon capture is the term used for the removal of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the energy conversion process to avoid it being emitted into the atmosphere. The CO2 is then converted into liquid form in preparation for piping to long-term storage in deep, closed underground reservoirs or depleted oil and gas fields.

The FuturGas facility will be designed to be carbon capture ready initially, in preparation for future carbon capture and storage development.

Hybrid Energy Australia will be among the leaders in South Australia in carbon capture and storage application which will benefit both Australia and other global carbon emitters.
